Physiological Testing

Just because you’re training hard doesn’t mean you’re training smart.

Want to ramp up the right way?

It all starts here.

You may be a sprinter, a climber, a triathlete, or a couch potato just getting started, but to improve your fitness level, physiological testing is an important first step.

We’ve tested both recreational and top athletes using guidelines established by the U.S. Olympic Committee.

More About Testing:

What is VO2?
Fitness can be measured by the volume of oxygen one can consume while exercising at maximum capacity. VO2 max is the maximum amount of oxygen in milliliters one can consume per kilogram of body weight per minute. It is an important test for evaluating the cardiovascular capacity of an athlete.

Why is VO2 testing beneficial?
Knowing one’s VO2 enables an athlete to determine his/her endurance capability. A sports specific program can be designed to increase aerobic capacity and performance capability.

What is the Lactate Threshold?
At rest and under steady-state exercise conditions, there is a delicate balance between blood lactate production and blood lactate removal. The lactate threshold refers to the intensity of exercise at which there is an abrupt increase in lactate levels.

Why is Measuring Lactate Threshold beneficial?
An athlete who can perform at high intensities with minimal lactate accumulation in the circulation will be able to avoid fatigue.
