Memorial Park Worlds Series
The Memorial Park Criteriums kicked off about a month ago. Hans Schneider has been putting this event on for many years with a great sponsor from Sun and Ski Sports, and the event is benefiting the Rita B. Huff Humane Society. Greg Bauer has been donating his time to help Hans out with the registration and making things run smoothly, but you can’t run things smoothly without the help of the wonderful USA Cycling officials in the Houston area. Special thanks to both of them for donating their time to help out organizing this event.
The Memorial Park Criterium will continue every Wednesday night starting at 5:40pm and ending with the Category 1/2/3 race at the Picnic Loop aka ‘Fruit Loop’. The event will conclude August 25th. Every week all the Category 1/2/3’s try and out do the Houston Powerhouse on the Bike Barn team, Kevin Kremke. Most racers use this event for training for the bigger national races, but some treat it as ‘their event’. No matter how you look at it, it’s a fun way to get out and mingle with all the local Houston area racers.
